A player taken in only a handful of drafts can swing wildly without anyone changing their mind, so I subtract what his sample could have wobbled on its own and show what is left.
Each board is compared against the most recent batch of drafts that shares none of the same drafts. That is what makes a move real rather than an artifact of the same drafts being counted twice — the cost is that a move can be up to a week old before it shows up here.
A move tells you what the room is doing, not who is right. Sometimes the room is reacting to real news — a job won, an injury — and sometimes it is reacting to itself. The useful read is on your own draft day: a player climbing fast is one you will have to reach for sooner than his price suggests, and a player sliding is one you can wait on.
A player missing from these lists has not been shown to be flat — it means his move could not be separated from his sample’s own noise. The bar is deliberately hard to clear, so thin samples stay quiet rather than loud.
